The Universe Loves a Stubborn Heart
I am an entrepreneur at heart.
I’ve always had the drive to run my own show. My first entrepreneurial gig happened at about age 10 when I decided to sell spice-braids door-to-door in my neighborhood.
What? You don’t know what a spice-braid is?
Wait, I just googled it and apparently it’s not a thing.
I don’t know where I came up with the idea, or maybe more accurately, whose idea I borrowed, but my mom had all the necessary materials—yarn, fabric scraps, and cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice. It was a low overhead project. And I did all the design work and the manual labor.
Then I put on a dress and went out by myself (guys, I was a super shy kid and I hated wearing dresses) and knocked on people’s doors. I was motivated. I was determined. And almost every person who answered their door bought one of my spice-braids!
I’ve worked for other people many times in my life and I can be a good employee, but it has never satisfied me. I crave the freedom of setting my own schedule, working on my own terms, and being accountable to myself.
Have I fallen down? Hell, yes.
Have I made epic mistakes? Holy heck, yes.
Have I been discouraged and disillusioned and wallowed in self-pity? Umm, yes.
I have spent long periods of time in which I felt like a loser and doubted my abilities to ever achieve my goals.
But I can't seem to shake the dream. The dream of creating the life I want, a life that is very particular to ME.
I’m sure your dreams are different than mine, BUT no matter what happens, never give up on them!
"Magic happens when you do not give up, even though you want to.
The universe always falls in love with a stubborn heart."

Whatever your dreams are, you have them for a reason. They are particular to you.
And yes, there are a million reasons you may feel like letting them go, a million variations on "it's too hard", "I'm not worthy", and "it's not realistic".
That's your scared inner critic talking.
Tune in instead to that quieter voice, the part of you that knows that you can do hard, you are worthy, and screw realistic.
Your dreams represent your heart's longing and your soul's purpose. I believe your dreams are calling you to live your life to the fullest.
So don't let them go.
I can't tell you how many times I've been thisclose to giving up, and just by the luck of the Irish, my tenacious little heart took one more step that turned out to be the threshold to achieving my goal.
Stay the course. Get back up and dust yourself off. Grit your teeth and clench your fists and keep going.
The universe loves a stubborn heart! ❤️
